John A. Boyd is a small business counselor who has advised thousands of individuals seeking to start their own business. On his own, he has owned a winery, wine and cheese shops, restaurants and a nightclub.
In the area of technology he has used desktop computers since 1970, worked as a chemical engineering consultant and operated a chemical research firm. Current interests include small business matters, SBA loan packaging, disaster recovery, polling and surveys in the Virgin Islands, and acting as an expert witness in small business matters.
After working as a college professor in business for 10 years and Business Counselor for the Small Business Development Center, Boyd quit the University of the Virgin Islands to assist his wife in the start up of her dry cleaning business.
Urged by his children, Boyd was a late entry to the Internet and is creating the content for Bizprimer.com based on his thirty years of small business experience and the experience of the thousands he has counseled over the years. He also worked on spectrumnews.net, which now sponsors this site.
